It's the line we return to in everything we make. We believe modesty and modern style were never meant to be opposites — that a woman can hold both, fully, and feel entirely herself.

How it began

It started with one woman, and a vision.

Culture Hijab was founded by a young Muslim woman, inspired by the endless possibilities of modest, modern fashion. She saw a gap between what was beautiful and what was available — and decided to close it herself.

In the summer of 2016, she chose to share that vision: to spread a little inspiration, to make getting dressed feel considered rather than complicated, and to celebrate modesty as the means to all beauty.

What began as one woman's idea is now a community of women who get dressed with us every day — and we're still, proudly, designed and run by women.

Sabira Dharsi launched Culture Hijab in the summer of 2016 as a young Muslim woman who couldn't find modest fashion that felt both beautiful and modern. She built Culture fabric-first and grew it into a 100% woman-owned brand with 16,379 five-star reviews — still designing every piece around the hand of its fabric. Her belief, unchanged since 2016: modesty is the means to all beauty.
